Period & Ovulation FAQs
This calculator gives an estimate based on your average cycle length, using the same method doctors use for a quick prediction. Actual dates can vary due to stress, travel, illness, or hormonal changes, so treat the result as a helpful guide, not a guarantee.
A normal menstrual cycle typically ranges from 21 to 35 days, counted from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. Most women fall in the 28-30 day range, but some variation is completely normal.
The fertile window is the span of days in your cycle when pregnancy is most likely — typically the 5 days before ovulation plus the day of ovulation itself, since sperm can survive in the body for up to 5 days awaiting the egg.
If your cycle is consistently shorter than 21 days or longer than 35 days, if periods stop unexpectedly, or if you have been trying to conceive for over a year without success (6 months if over 35), it's time to consult a gynaecologist.
